Basambilu Lodge lies at the heart of Lulekani, the tribal home of Shangaan people, famous for their ritual magic healing, and fabulous flying dancers. Only a few short miles from the gates of Kruger Park, South Africa’s most famous tourist destination, Basambilu is central to the mountains of Mpumalanga, and the hills of the mystic Venda lands.

If you’re interested in volun-tourism activities, Basambilu plays an active role with LekaGape orphanage where children displaced by the ravages of HIV or domestic violence find a safe shelter, and free education. Many of the lodge’s visitors are actively volunteering or interning with the children.
